JSOC has a strong focus on keeping events accessible for students suffering financial hardship.
Our equity measures include:

Keeping membership costs for UTS students low.

Workshops and speakers events are either free or cost only a gold coin donation.

Food and drinks are provided at informals.

Tickets for big events are heavily discounted for members who are suffering from financial hardship.

An effort is made to hold workshops at different times.

All speakers events and information learnt at workshops are freely available on the podcast The Cub Report and on the closed FB group.

Speaker and panel events are recorded and available through the podcast.

An event based in Western Sydney features journalists who managed to overcome financial and other adversities to break into the industry.

We encourage Insearch students and international students to become members and participate in the society.
